EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  • Credit Suisse named Simon Yuan co-head of the financial institutions greater China coverage team

ChiWonYoonMovers.pngUBS appointed Chi-Won Yoon as chairman and CEO of Asia-Pacific and a member of the group executive board. Yoon (pictured) succeeds Rory Tapner, who leaves the bank after 25 years. Yoon joined UBS in 1997 as head of equity derivatives, becoming head of Asia equities in 2004, head of Asia Pacific equities in 2008 and head of equities and fixed income, currency and commodities for Asia-Pacific in 2009.


Credit Suisse Group appointed Simon Yuan as a managing director and co-head of the financial institutions greater China coverage team in its investment banking department. Yuan was previously with Merrill Lynch & Co. in Hong Kong, where he worked since 2004. During that time, he was head of the China financial institutions group.

Separately, on Aug. 1, Tee Fong Seng will become vice chairman and head of ultra-high net worth for private banking, Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, he will report to Marcel Kreis, head of private banking, Asia-Pacific. Tee was most recently the head of wealth management for Southeast Asia and deputy branch manager, UBS Singapore.
