IgorVenediktovMovers.pngDLA Piper made Igor Venediktov head of its Moscow tax practice. He was chief financial officer at development company Snegiri Group. Before that, Venediktov (pictured) was head of Ernst & Young's real estate tax practice in the CIS.

Separately, the firm appointed Heinz Zimmermann to establish a tax advisory practice in its Cologne office. Zimmermann moves to DLA Piper from Hogan & Hartson Raue LLP in Berlin.


J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. hired Masaru Shibata as head of mergers and acquisitions in Japan. He held the same title at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. Shibata, focusing on cross-border deals, will arrive Nov. 17. He spent 15 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York and Tokyo.

RBC Capital Markets appointed Richard Barker as head of global investment banking, Australia. Barker spent 10 years at N.M. Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Ltd., where he was executive director, mergers and acquisitions.


Watch Hill Partners LLC hired senior investment bankers David Dickson and Robert Swindell.

Dickson comes in from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was a managing director in the financial sponsors group. Previously, Dickson was head of the industrial mergers and acquisitions group at UBS, where he was a senior member of the business review group and fairness opinion committee, as well as head of the diversity steering committee.

Swindell was CEO of Civitas Group LLC, an advisory group in Washington, where he still serves as chairman. Earlier, Swindell spent 17 years at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., where he was head of U.S. technology banking, global consumer/industrial and debt capital markets groups. He was also a member of the investment banking operating committee.


Energy investment bank and institutional financial services firm Pritchard Capital Partners hired Owen Jones and John Joyce as senior vice presidents. Jones joins as a sales trader in Washington, while Joyce arrives in New York working on the institutional sales team.

Jones hails from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s London office, where he was a director of equity trading. Joyce was a vice president at Creditex Inc., responsible for expanding the LCDS desk and credit derivatives teams.


Silicon Valley technology and life sciences venture capital firm Panorama Capital promoted Michael Jung from principal to partner. Prior to working in VC, he was vice president of corporate strategy and development at the Exigen Group, an enterprise software and services company.


Austin Ventures tapped Manuel Rosso as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Prior to IMVU, he was director of brand marketing for Dell Inc.'s consumer and small business desktop group.


Alvarez & Marsal expanded its business consulting presence in Chicago, adding Barry Brunsman as a managing director. Brunsman covers the petroleum, power utilities, financial services, manufacturing and retail industries, focusing on post-merger integration, information technology performance improvement, outsourcing/offshoring and systems integration. He has worked at Deloitte Consulting LLP and McKinsey & Co.


Patent litigator Alexander Brainerd joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP as a partner. Brainerd, who will split his time between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, was a partner at Heller Ehrman LLP. Before Heller, he spent 28 years at Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon LLP, which closed in 1999.


Laurence Lieberman joined the banking and finance team of Taylor Wessing LLP as a partner, focusing on claims involving the wealth management sector. He was a senior associate in DLA Piper's litigation and regulatory group.


O'Melveny & Myers LLP said Kenneth Nissly, Susan van Keulen and Geoffrey Yost will join as partners in the intellectual property and technology practice group. Nissly and Van Keulen will reside in Silicon Valley, while Yost will be based in San Francisco. All three were partners at Thelen LLP.


Proskauer Rose LLP named five partners and three senior counsel. The partners include Philippa Bond and Gary Creem, corporate; Steven Hurd, labor; and litigators Jeremy Oczek and Jennifer Scullion. The senior counsel are Reid Arstark, corporate; labor attorney Amy Covert; and litigator David Miranda.


Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP elected four partners: Paul Denaro, global securities in New York; Martin Erhardt of Munich, global corporate group; Frankfurt-based corporate attorney Peter Memminger; and James Murray of Singapore, global project finance.


In Chicago, Huron Consulting Group added Robert Wilson and transferred Dirk VerMeulen to its health and education consulting practice. Wilson comes from Billings Clinic, where he was chief financial officer. VerMeulen has been with Huron's corporate consulting practice since 2005.
