EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Blank Rome LLP made Alan Hoffman and T. Michael Dyer co-chairmen of the firm. Former chairman David Girard-diCarlo was sworn in by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to serve as ambassador to the Republic of Austria.

Gary Goldenberg becomes Blank Rome finance partner. Former finance partner Barry Genkin replaces Dyer as head of the business department and James Smith replaces Hoffman as head of the litigation department.

Hunton & Williams LLP hired eight labor and employment lawyers from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Hunton is also opening a San Francisco office.

Laura Franze, a partner, will co-chair Hunton's national labor and employment practice, based in Los Angeles and Dallas. She was co-chair of Akin Gump's national labor and employment practice and a member of the management committee. Los Angeles-based Roland Juarez is a partner focusing on complex employment litigation, trade secret and employee mobility issues.

Partner Fraser McAlpine will work from San Francisco and Houston. Partner M. Brett Burns will reside in San Francisco.

Also, associate Anna Suh will practice in San Francisco, and associates Justin Smith, Richard Cortez Jr. and Jennifer Reith will join the Dallas office.


Labor and employment partner Gregory Hessinger joined Reed Smith LLP's New York office from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Before Morgan, Hessinger was executive director of the Screen Actors Guild. Before that, he was executive director of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and, earlier, was director of labor relations for CBS Corp. and Westinghouse Broadcasting Co.


Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP hired Robert Dickerson as a partner in its intellectual property group in Los Angeles. He was head of Jones Day's Los Angeles IP group.

Separately, James Mercadante joined the firm as a partner in its private investment funds practice in New York. Mercadante was a corporate partner at Baker & Hostetler LLP.
