Movers & shakers: Sept. 23, 2009

CraigDrummondMovers.pngCraig Drummond will head Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Australian operations, replacing Paul Masi as country executive. Masi left for personal reasons. Drummond (pictured) was executive chairman and co-CEO of Goldman Sachs JB Were Pty. Ltd., where he spent 23 years. BofA Merrill also hired Peter O'Connor from Deutsche Bank AG to head its Australian resource research team.


Deutsche Bank AG made four hires in global prime finance in its global markets division.

John Egan rejoins as a director. He was head of the North America portfolio finance group at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC. Egan will lead DB's new securities lending special situations trading group in North America. Ted Langworthy will join as a director to oversee international securities lending trading in North America. He was head of Asian securities lending for North America at Morgan Stanley. Based in New York, they report to Paul Busby, managing director and head of securities lending for the Americas.

Sairam Venkatraman joined as a director from Citigroup Inc., where he was a senior vice president and manager for global securities lending technology. Prasad Yenamandra joined the bank as a director from Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was a vice president and functional architect for global securities services technology. Venkatraman and Yenamandra report to Sanjay Chojar, managing director and head of global prime finance information technology.
