Alan Zhang joined Goldman, Sachs & Co. as a managing director and head of Greater China securities. At Deutsche Bank AG, for China, he was head of the institutional client group, debt and equity, and head of global markets equity. Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. appointed Lee Stern, a managing director at GSO Capital Partners LP, as a director responsible for originating and structuring mezzanine investments. Based in New York, Stern joins KKR Asset Management. Earlier, he was an executive vice president and chief transaction officer at Technology Investment Capital Corp. In 1999, Stern was a founding partner of Thomas Weisel Partners LLC. From 1992 to 1996, he was a managing director at Nomura Securities International Inc., where he helped build the merchant banking and principal debt investing business. He was also on its underwriting and commitment committees. Stern has been a managing director at Kidder, Peabody & Co., Drexel Burnham Lambert and L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin.
