Credit Suisse Group will make François Roussely vice chairman of Europe on Nov. 2. His role as CEO of Credit Suisse in France will go to Pierre Fleuriot. Both are in Paris and report to Eric Varvel, CEO of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. In addition, Roussely will assume the global lead for advising investment banking clients in nuclear energy, working with Jim Amine and Luigi de Vecchi, co-heads of the global investment banking department, and Jamie Welch, global head of energy for investment banking. Most recently, Fleuriot spent a decade with ABN Amro Bank NV in several senior roles, including CEO of ABN France, CEO of Banque Neuflize OBC, a private banking subsidiary, and head of corporate and investment banking country coverage for EMEA. He began his career at ABN Amro as co-head of an equity capital market joint venture with Rothschild. Previously, he spent 12 years with the Commission des Operations de Bourse, the precursor to the AMF, France's market regulator.
