Broadpoint Gleacher Securities Group Inc. will establish an affiliate to be named Broadpoint International, with Cliff Siegel as its CEO.

As part of the international markets effort, Broadpoint Gleacher agreed to acquire London-based ISM Capital, an investment banking boutique that Siegel founded in 2008 that focuses on emerging market debt. ISM Capital will be a subsidiary of Broadpoint International. Siegel, chairman and CEO of ISM Capital, will also join the management committee of Broadpoint Capital Inc., a broker-dealer subsidiary of Broadpoint Gleacher Securities. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

Previously, Siegel was the founding CEO of Jefferies International, an executive vice president of Jefferies & Co. and a member of Jefferies' global executive committee. During his 17 years at Jefferies, he oversaw all overseas business development of Jefferies International.

Also to join Broadpoint International are Edward Males and Michael Bancroft, who, with Siegel, are principals of ISM Capital.

Males will join Broadpoint International as president and chief operating officer. Before ISM, he was a managing director at Jefferies, where he led the creation and development of its business in India.

Bancroft will join Broadpoint International as a senior managing director. Before ISM, he was with Polygon Investment Management, where he was co-head of investments in Hong Kong, responsible for Japanese, Asian and European convertible credit and volatility investments.
