Movers & shakers: Nov. 6, 2009

BNP Paribas made fixed-income hires in New York. Sean Farrell joins as a managing director to head the new U.S. short-term team that covers accounts for both rates and credit short duration products. He has worked at Countrywide Financial Corp. and UBS. He reports to Patrick McKee, head of North America credit sales, and to Mallory Brooks, head of U.S. interest rate sales.

Marc Badner is a managing director in North American credit sales. He joins from Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, where he spent four years in credit sales and, before that, worked at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. Badner covers hedge funds, insurance companies and asset managers and reports to McKee.

Joseph Lyons joins as a director in North America credit sales. He spent four years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Chicago and five years at Morgan Stanley in New York and Chicago. He also reports to McKee.

Keith Price joined as a director in the U.S. inflation business, where he is trading Treasury Inflation Protected Securities. He has worked at Deutsche Bank AG and Barclays Capital. Price reports to Jeremie Banet, head of U.S. inflation trading.
