Richard Morgan

As editor at large for The Deal, Richard Morgan focuses on the media, entertainment and telecommunications sectors. Richard has closely followed high-profile takeovers, management shakeups, pre-packaged bankruptcies and pre-bankruptcy battles.

Richard is the author of "J. Walter Takeover: From Divine Right to Common Stock," an examination of the M&A mania that reshaped Madison Avenue in the 1980s. Prior to joining The Deal Richard worked at Variety, where he reported on the business of showbiz, and before that he was a columnist at The New York Observer for which he penned the "Mad. Ave. Crowd" column. Richard also spent a decade at AdWeek where, as editor in chief, he helped launch sister titles MediaWeek and BrandWeek.
