At paidContent's EconAds seminar this week in New York, Spark Capital general partner Dennis Miller
said the early-stage VC firm is set to announce its investment in a
startup launched by an entrepreneur who he describes as the "next David Karp," alluding to the young founder of microblogging phenomenon Tumblr Inc.
"We are kind of six degrees of David right now," says Miller, a media
specialist whose prior investments have included College Sports
Television, acquired by CBS in 2005 for $325 million; TVONE, a cable
network
owned in partnership with Comcast Corp. and Radio One; and K-12 Inc., a
publicly held provider of online education services. "He has been a
great secret weapon for us," he said.
In our video video interview with Miller, he also discusses the
challenges of advertising using online video and emerging technologies
that can help advertisers. And see below for more of Tech
Confidential's video coverage of EconAds.
