In this episode of The Deal's Behind the Money video show, Launchability Inc. CEO Jesse Engle explains how the startup's CoTweet program helps companies and brands leverage Twitter.
"CoTweet makes it possible for people to tweet from the same account and still maintain the human touch," says Engle. "It encourages behavior that keeps brands human on Twitter and allows companies to manage workflow with both proactive out-bound marketing as well as reactive responses to customer service requests."
CoTweet was recently featured at a NY Tech Meetup that focused on programs running on Twitter. CoTweet is still in private beta and will be available publicly this spring.
Launchability has not raised any institutional funding yet. Two recent additions to its advisory board are Jerry Michalski, former managing editor of Esther Dyson's Release 1.0, and John Loftus, a venture partner at Internet Capital Group.
Engle also talks about what it's like to build a business on top of Twitter, a still immature technology platform that has had outages and security breaches but nevertheless has attracted a loyal and growing following. Warts and all, Twitter recently raised another $35 million in Series C funding. Watch the video above or download it at iTunes. - Mary Kathleen Flynn
