Natural Grocers discusses IPO

Published July 25, 2012 at 1:24 PM

After pricing its $107 million initial public offering, organic food and supplement company Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage Inc. listed Wednesday, July 25, on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker NGVC. In this video, Kemper Isely, chairman and co-president of the natural food and supplement company, talks about reasons for the IPO and Natural Grocers' expansion plans. Although many organic foods are more costly than comparable items, Isely expresses the company's commitment to keeping prices low. He also says that Natural Grocers intends to stay away from the growing online grocery business. A little more than half of the shares are being offered by the company, and the rest are coming from current stockholders. - Katie Roof
