Corporate Dealmaker Forum Highlights: Joy Global's Tom Walton on corporate/PE partnerships

Are private equity firms the enemy of corporate dealmakers? Absolutely not, says Tom Walton, vice president of corporate development for the mining equipment maker Joy Global Inc. Still, Walton told Corporate Dealmaker's Suzanne Stevens at the recent Corporate Dealmaker Forum in New York, that an us-against-them mentality is why we don't see more strategics teaming up with PE firms. And it's too bad, he says, because in the current volatile environment, such partnerships make more sense than ever.
