Warren Buffett's $34 billion investment in Burlington Northern Sante Fe Corp. (NYSE:BNI) shouldn't come as a surprise. Buffett already owned a 22% stake in the rail operator through his Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A). His big bet also reflects the attractiveness of the rail industry as a whole, says Andrew Horrocks, a managing director with Moelis & Co. and former Americas head of capital goods and transportation at UBS Investment Bank.
