Harvey Miller of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP spoke to The Deal's Mary Kathleen Flynn at The Deal Economy 2010 conference about the use of resolution authority. Resolution authority is the proposal that would allow the government the power to unwind systemically important financial institutions and give them a framework for doing so. Even if the government had used resolution authority in the case of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., he said, it would not have made a difference.
