G-20 summit: James Bacchus on financial coordination

Published April 1, 2009 at 5:35 PM
As G-20 summit leaders discuss how to rescue the global economy, coordinating some aspects of worldwide finance will likely make the agenda. In this edition of Inside The Deal, Suzanne Stevens and former Democratic Congressman James Bacchus discuss what aspects of finance can realistically be coordinated.

Bacchus, a former chairman of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization who now co-chairs the global practice group at Greenberg Traurig LLP, says financial protectionism presents a significant obstacle to achieving global cooperation. And while Bacchus understands the rage being directed at the U.S. and other developed nations through G-20 protests, he says elected leaders cannot allow fear to dictate their decisions See the video now or download it on iTunes. - George White
