"Traditionally IBM has always had a complete portfolio of hardware and software businesses, and we see a larger opportunity in the information generated around mobile transactions," explains Alberto Jimenez, head of Mobile Money for IBM Corp., in this video interview with The Deal magazine. Over the last few years, Big Blue has made a handful of acquisitions in analytics, the biggest of which was Cognos Inc. for $4.9 billion. Value-added services around mobile transactions may be next .
