No buyers for Hulu, Nielsen, et al.

The reason Hulu LLC is reportedly considering an IPO is because there are no buyers for it and other media companies such as Nielsen Holdings BV and Demand Media Inc., which have filed for public offerings, says Peachtree Media Advisors Inc. founder John Doyle in this video interview. As a joint venture of NBC Universal, News Corp., Walt Disney Co. and Providence Equity Partners LLC, Hulu is no typical startup. An IPO will give its investors, especially private equity firm Providence, the opportunity to begin an exit.
