Private equity will be one of the big drivers of the capital markets in 2011, says Scott Cutler, NYSE Euronext's head of listings, Americas, in this video interview with The Deal magazine shot on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on the morning of Kinder Morgan Inc.'s initial public offering. Cutler points to the strong performance of recent PE-backed public debuts, such as Kinder Morgan, Nielsen Holdings BV and BankUnited. But not all results for PE-backed companies have been positive. Dutch medical devices maker Tornier BV and MedQuist Holdings Inc., a medical documentation services company, both priced below range, points out The Deal magazine's Vyvyan Tenorio in her article, "Dandy debuts" in the current issue. Stay tuned for more PE-backed IPOs on the horizon, including hospital chain HCA Holdings Inc. and Toys "R" Us Inc. - Mary Kathleen Flynn Share:
