U.S. manufacturing healthier than you might think

Manufacturing in the U.S. may be a lot healthier than is commonly believed, says senior writer Matt Miller in "Revisiting manufacturing" in the current issue of The Deal magazine. Through July, American manufacturing has grown for 12 straight months, according to a report by the Institute for Supply Management. And, for almost every example of manufacturing that has fled the U.S., there's a counterexample of one that's holding on. The U.S. produces more than 40% of the world's medical devices. - Mary Kathleen Flynn
