Fair price paid by DST for AOL's ICQ

Published April 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM
Digital Sky Technologies Ltd.'s purchase of AOL Inc.'s ICQ operations for $187.5 million in cash "will turn out to be a fair price paid for one of the best independent technologies out there," says Scott Peters, co-president, The Jordan Edmiston Group Inc., which provides independent investment banking services to companies in the media and information industries. "There will be an arms race in building the perfect platform of communications tools, and we'll see a lot of consolidation in the tools and capabilities that surround social networking by some of the largest investors."
