Fifth Street's Tannenbaum: Churchill & Carlyle are great for BDCs

Published November 21, 2011 at 5:06 AM

"It's a great purchase for Carlyle," says Fifth Street Finance's CEO Leonard Tannenbaum regarding the private equity firm's secondary buyout of commercial finance company Churchill Financial LLC for an undisclosed amount on Friday, November 18, giving a partial exit to majority owner Olympus Partners. Tannenbaum goes on to describe the ways in which the entrance of brand-name LBO shops like TPG Capital and The Carlyle Group  in the sector will end up benefiting other BDCs like Fifth Street. - George White
