Blackstone Group LP (NYSE:BX) isn't the only private equity firm eying the IPO market. Fortress Investment Group LLC (NYSE:FIG) took railroad operator RailAmerica Inc. (NYSE:RA) to market on Tuesday and saw the share price drop 6%
(The Deal Pipeline subscription required). A handful of other PE-backed
firms have also gone public in the past three months. In this edition
of Inside The Deal, Peter Kaufman, president of the investment bank
Gordian Group LLC, says PE firms are looking for exits and the stock
market rally has made IPOs an attractive option. What's not clear is
whether the investors are ready for the highly leveraged portfolio
