Apollo's Sam Oh on evolving GP-LP relationship

Published February 6, 2012 at 2:21 PM

"We're seeing a shift towards global institutions investing in and through our funds," explains Sam Oh, a partner at Apollo Global Management LLC, at the 18th annual Wharton Private Equity and Venture Capital Conference. Oh, who spoke on a leveraged buyout panel at the conference, goes on to say, "We are seeing much bigger LPs coming into the space that previously weren't even around, say, 10 years ago." This evolving global playing field, along with "larger pools of capital concentrated in fewer hands," will lead to "more customized, tailored programs for some of these larger LPs, which is really what the market demands," he adds. - Sarah Hashim-Waris
