Russian dealmaking heats up

There's been a pickup in Russian cross-border deals because "most major companies feel the need to be in Russia" as well as other BRIC countries, says Laura Brank, head of law firm Dechert LLP's Russia practice. In the past, the Russian government posed some obstacles to transactions, but Brank says Russia is "trying to open up more sectors of the economy to foreign investment." - Katie Roof
