Exclusive Video: Brooklyn's first VC fund

Published January 17, 2012 at 9:37 AM

A seed grows in Brooklyn. Charlie O'Donnell, formerly of First Round Capital and General Motors Corp.'s pension fund, is starting Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, Brooklyn, N.Y.'s first venture capital fund. O'Donnell explains why he feels Brooklyn is a good place for technology businesses. Up-and-coming startups like Etsy Inc. and MakerBot Industries LLC are already based there, and O'Donnell foresees a growing community of ad tech and clean-energy companies. He adds, "A lot of the entrepreneurs and the technical and design talent actually already live out there." - Katie Roof
