Latham & Watkins partners Christopher Drewry and Josh Dubofsky, global co-chairs of the firm’s shareholder activism and takeover defense practice, discussed the latest trends in investor insurgencies on the Activist Investing Today podcast with The Deal’s Ronald Orol.

Latham & Watkins LLP’ Christopher Drewry and Joshua Dubofsky joined Activist Investing Today host Ronald Orol to explore how companies are responding to new shareholder activism dynamics. The partners discussed their firm’s work, which has included advising clients such as Harley-Davidson Inc. (HOG), CoStar Group Inc. (CSGP) and Zevra Therapeutics Inc. (ZVRA), in recent high-profile contests.

The duo also examined the SEC’s approval of ExxonMobil Corp.’s (XOM) “auto-vote” program for retail investors, shifts in proxy adviser influence and the importance of proactive off-season engagement with major index funds. Drewry and Dubofsky also noted a resurgence in M&A-driven activism, with investors pressing for sales and divestitures amid renewed deal activity.
