Behind the Buyouts: Unity Partners' Blankenau on Thematic Sourcing

Published: March 23rd, 2026
Unity Partners head of business development Callie Blankenau discusses lower middle market investing and sourcing strategies.

On the latest episode of Behind the Buyouts, Callie Blankenau, head of business development at Unity Partners LP, discussed the firm’s investment strategy and sourcing approach in the middle market.

Founded in 2022, Dallas-based Unity Partners emphasizes thematic investing, combining macro-driven theses with deep sector work to identify opportunities in fragmented industries such as accounting, facility services and legal services. It targets businesses with $5 million to $25 million of Ebitda.

“We’re looking for businesses that are service-based models, and we think of that world as office-based services and field-based services,” Blankenau said.

Unity has an integrated model, where investment, business development and value acceleration teams collaborate across sourcing, underwriting and post-close execution.

The firm’s investments include Fenton, Mo.-based property maintenance services company Katsam Property Services; Midwestern landscaping platform Yardmaster Inc.; and fractional finance, marketing and HR-managed professional services business Amplēo.
