The Deal Recognizes White & Case's Germaine Gurr as Part of Women in Dealmaking Package

The M&A partner and promoter of the firm’s diversity and inclusion focus is an honoree in The Deal’s 2020 Top Women in Dealmaking list as part of the M&A category.

The Deal, an award-winning financial news organization, is proud to announce White & Case LLP’s Germaine Gurr has been named to its 2020 Top Women in Dealmaking list.

Gurr, a partner in White & Case’s global M&A practice in New York, advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities offerings, capital raising opportunities, joint venture and commercial transactions, and general corporate matters. She is an honoree in The Deal’s 2020 Top Women in Dealmaking list as part of the M&A category.

Among her dealwork, Gurr was the lead partner for Schneider Electric in its ₹14,000 crore (appx. $2 billion) acquisition of Larsen & Toubro’s electrical and automation business, as well as on other deals for the French multinational company.

She regularly advises Sole Source Capital and other private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on M&A transactions, and has done deals with Advent International, Providence Equity Partners, and Berkshire Partners among other PE firms, throughout her career. Gurr is a member of White & Case’s Women, LGBT+ and Hispanic/Latinx affinity networks. 

Gurr joined White & Case in June. Prior to being a partner at her previous law firm, she spent more than six years in-house at Schneider Electric where she was Deputy General Counsel and responsible for legal matters related to Schneider Electric’s global corporate transactions, including merger & acquisitions, carve-outs, divestitures, joint ventures and supporting Schneider Electric Venture. In 2020, Euromoney included Gurr in its U.S. M&A and Women in Business Law Expert Guides.

Gurr is a native Spanish speaker and former Florida Black Belt Association marital arts competitor.
